Demos are made for almost any platform, not just PCs. One of the goals is to conquer all the new (and old) platforms and make them run things that'll pop your eyes out.
COMMODORE 64 (C64) ![]()
Often credited as the grand daddy of the whole demoscene. 1980s favourite demo platform and one of the best-selling computer models of all time carried some 64 kilobytes of RAM and groundbreaking sound and graphics performance, the most important capabilities for the demomakers.

COMMODORE AMIGA![]()
Amiga 500 pretty much herited the crown from C64 and ruled the golden era of the demoscene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Amiga 1200 with its improved AGA chipset set the next level for real time 3D graphics, but couldn't hold its position against the rise of the PC as the demo platform.
